My Pet Speaker transforms your personal music library into pet-friendly tunes that soothe and relax dogs, cats, horses, and their people
Innovative Pet Acoustics iPhone Application plays music specifically composed to reduce a pet’s stress, anxiety, and aggression caused by their reaction to sounds.
Pet Acoustics Inc, a company dedicated to bringing products to market that bring balance and well being to the animals that share their lives with us, announces the Pet Acoustics My Pet Speaker. This innovative speaker is the world’s first sound system designed to cater specifically to the hearing sensitivities of dogs, cats, and horses.
Founders of Pet Acoustics, a leading authority on music for animals, Janet Marlow and Sam Laufer, (Laufer Teknik) have designed a revolutionary speaker system designed for your pets’ delicate hearing. With their acute sense, our pets can hear frequencies that are both much higher and much lower than what the human ear is capable of hearing. Sounds outside of an animals normal comfort range can startle or cause discomfort to our pets.
Designed to eliminate these unsettling frequencies, My Pet Speaker features an Omni directional speaker with a 4” drive unit and cone reflector which disburses the music in 360 degrees recreating how animals hear in nature. By producing limited frequencies and featuring a soft bass design for listening comfort, your pets will not be startled or disturbed by jarring volumes and piercing sounds that put them on alert. My Pet Speaker keeps these alarming frequencies within the comfort range of your pet’s hearing. This allows you to use your entire music library to fill you and your pets’ environment with a sense of calm and relaxation.

REVIEW: My Pet Speaker Lets You and Your Furball Dance to the Music
TREATS FOR PEOPLE
Understanding life from an animal's point of view can be tough for us bumbling, insensitive humans. What sound frequencies might bother my dog hardly ever crossed my selfish mind, so thank goodness for Pet Acoustics, a company that has designed a beautiful home speaker system that works for you and your pets. My Pet Speaker ($249.95) was created with animals' acute hearing in mind, so it generates fewer frequencies than a traditional sound system might. Music gets dispersed in 360 degrees and the bass doesn't get too loud for their little ears.
The speaker's sound is perfectly functional — but it's not going to give you a mind-blowing aural experience, so no bumpin' Saturday night house parties with this, sorry. I can't tell you how it affected my dog, since Ethel doesn't seem to be bothered by any kind of noise — she might lift her head and blink slowly to indicate she'll be going back to sleep in 3, 2, 1 ... but that's about it. My Pet Speaker definitely didn't disturb her, and it gave me comfort to think that the speaker's design was keeping her in mind, too. Aesthetically, the speaker is quite pleasing. You can tell the designers wanted to make something modern and handsome, and they mostly succeeded.
Sarah Wright, editor of Your Dog magazine, said dog owners need to be aware of the stress very high and low frequency sounds can have on their pet. She said: 'This new speaker is a great idea. 'We all know dogs are often distressed by loud noises such as fireworks but they can also be sensitive to some sounds that humans cannot even hear
Pet Acoustics’ innovative iPhone Application is being downloaded by pet lovers all over the world and was recently featured on The Martha Stewart Show. Pet Acoustics founder and composer Janet Marlow is excited about the response, “With the overwhelming success and response to the Pet Acoustics application, we are so thrilled to provide this amazing tool that uses all music to create pet-friendly environments for pets everywhere. My Pet Speaker is ideal for pets at home, veterinary clinics, barns, pet care facilities, and is currently being used in horse stables to elicit relaxation by modifying frequencies that agitate equine hearing.”
